For Kindle
Paperback
The Dead Peasants File is an exciting new Christian suspense novel by L. Craig Harris. It took more than five years to write and is now available as a paperback and as a Kindle e-Book from Amazon.com. It is also for sale at Blaser's Books in Palestine and The Scroll in Tyler.
Synopsis: Dillon McGee is a security guard for the largest retail company in the world, Morgan Retail. But something is going terribly wrong. He discovers Morgan is murdering his co-workers to cash in their life insurance. Then it gets worse – Dillon learns he is the next target. He must find a way to escape before he is hunted down. He is on a dangerous adventure and desperate fight for his life.
Dillon teams up with a local pastor whose wife has recently gone to work for Morgan Retail. The pastor hates the company because it put a small bar code on his wife's forehead. He couldn't stand the idea of a mark on her forehead and she took his children and left him. She went to work for Morgan because she was desperate, but she is learning what kind of company she is working for.
Dead peasant's insurance is real. Companies routinely purchase corporate-owned life insurance policies on their workers. If the worker dies, the company, not the family, receives the benefit.
The Dead Peasants File is fast-paced and exciting, building to a breath-taking climax that is hauntingly frightening, heart-breaking and realistic, but ultimately satisfying.

“This is one of the most terrifying books I have read. It shows what can happen if we become complacent and just look at money. Thanks for reminding us that big business is not perfect and we need to stay alert.”
“Worth buy. Applause his work. Hope gets more published. Not for Dan Brown fen but has some violence. The religious content fits character but not intrusive to other characters or reader. Loved the action. Surprised book was this good.”
“Action packed, fast moving and really holds your interest. For his first book this is a winner. Cannot wait for more from this author. I could not put it down. Highly recommend.”
“Very good book and excellent story line. The plot thickens and it was hard to put down. If you're looking for a suspenseful and relevant plot- this is it!”
“I loved this book. Was sorry to come to the end. Suspenseful.”
“I love a great mystery that makes you stop reading for a while cause the material is so intense, this was one of those! I would recommend to anyone that loves to read books that keep you on the edge of your seat. I ready for this author to write another. It deserves 5 stars or more!”
“I will be looking for more books from this author L. Craig Harris. THE DEAD PEASANTS FILE, was great. The characters worked together to bring down the evil bad guys. Action all the way through this book moves it fast. The family interactions are a treat. They fit well with what is happening to all involved in this drama. Would like to see these characters in another story.”

(Via Email) "...it kept me up all night! First night I really got into it, I stayed up too late reading it but was too far away from the finish line, so the next night I "had" to finish it. Stayed up until practically morning reading it! Your book really had great pace, great characterization and you do so well with the action scenes (makes me jealous!). I felt like I was watching a movie, once the story started unfolding. And in my opinion, that's a good thing too because I can actually visualize the characters and the book, because it brought the book to life." - Cheril Vernon
(From Facebook) I really enjoyed your book! It was a page turner, for sure, with all the action, excitement, and sometimes, very tense moments. Whenever I would put it down, I couldn't wait to pick it up again to see what was going to happen next. I would literally grit my teeth for the characters, at times. LOL Thank you for a great read. I hope you write more... - Carla Adair Winston-Atkins

“I enjoyed this story very much. Started and
couldn't put it down until I finished reading to the end. I pictured in my mind
eye each place that the author took me. You know they will get the bad guys in
the end but how that was the interesting part. Enjoyed the scriptures and the
Pastor's messages.”
“This is an awesome book. It was loaded with action
and suspense. I hate to read but I could not put it down. Read over the course
of a couple hours for 3 days. I love how the author included action, drama, and
religious aspects. Can't wait for the next work..... I recommend this for
ANYONE and would love to see it as a movie!”
“I would recommend this book because it has a good
plot . It keeps you on the edge of your seat with action . The story is
intriguing and fast paced . I can't tell you the ending but the Author hooks
you from the beginning of the story so please take time to read it . It is well
worth it.”
“Just read this book and it was one of the few books
that I had a hard time putting it down. This man should write more fiction
books like this one.”
“Good read couldn't put the book down. Would highly
recommend this book . Keeps you wanting to read one more chapter before putting
down.”
“What an inspiring book. The plot was rather
frightening. It was great how the three main characters worked to solve the
case. And the way the pastor relied on his belief in God through the problems
at church, family problems and his brushes with death was wonderful. I really
enjoyed this book.”
“It was a great book and I couldn't put it down;
completed it in less than 24 hours. I highly recommend it.”
“Suspenseful. Holds your attention. The plot was
easy to follow. and this book was hard to put down. I highly recommend this
book if you are looking for a book with clean language and content but with
plenty of action.”
“I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was a page
turner from beginning to end. The characters were well written. There was a lot
of action and it does deal with the subject of murder but that is what you
expect form the book title.”
“This is the first fiction book written by L. Craig Harris and I hope it is not the last.”

“This is definitely a page turner. Lots of suspense
and action. I loved it. I started it one day and had to pick it back up the
next day to finish it because I couldn't wait to find out what happens. I
thought the author did a good job of introducing the characters and I enjoyed
the way the author was able to bring in a bible lesson here and there.”
“Held my interest from the first page. Read straight
through into the night. Lots of action, and not just one or two main big
scenes. Suspenseful all the way through. Very intense.”
“No bad language at all, and no sexual content.”
“This is the author's first book (and only book, as far as I know). Can't wait for him to write more. =)”
